Week Two's Awesome Speaker!

Kevin Britton is going to be the speaker at the Chattanooga Week Two project.  He is originally from Irving, Texas.  Kevin has served as a minister/pastor to middle school, high school, and college students since 1992, and he has 8 years of teaching experience in the public school system.  He currently serves as the Student Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia (just outside of Washington D.C.), and he is bringing a big group from his church with him to Chattanooga.  Kevin has been a part of World Changers since 2004 as a participant, a leader, and a speaker and continues to be blessed in great ways by the work, through the worship, and through opportunities to share God’s hope and grace.  Kevin and Krista were married in 1993 and they have two children whose names are Logan and Kaitlyn.

Kevin anticipates great opportunities for each participant at the Chattanooga project to pursue God and join Him in His redemptive work.  He considers it a great honor and blessing to serve as the project speaker.

What a Great Pre-Project Visit!

Our pre-project visit on May 4th was a great experience! We enjoyed meeting some of you!  We were fortunate to have Tony Sammons and other representatives from the Chattanooga Neighborhood Services and Community Development who will be funding and supporting both weeks' projects. An extra special treat was our National World Changer Coordinators Bill and Modena Kagay, who were able to join us. Bobby and Martha Boutwell, our co-ACs provided delicious barbeque, and we enjoyed our time with our site representative, Bob Rann.  Our agenda included touring our housing facility Brainerd Baptist Church, visiting some of the areas where our work sites will be located, and discussing the following information:
  • Daily schedule
  • Wednesday night ministry opportunities
  • Transportation
  • Expectations and dress code
  • Construction
  • Crew chiefs and crew encouragers
  • Group Leader's Manual
  • Lifeway's Planning Portal
We also had lots of great discussion, question/answer time, and bonding time! I will be posting more details about most of our agenda on this blog. Special thanks to all who made the trip to Chattanooga and their families!
